“In the past decade, several other journals have been notable for their inclusion of work that applies a wider definition of haiku and have influenced how haiku are composed today. The first, and most senior, is ant ant ant ant ant, founded in 1994 by Chris Gordon and edited by him ever since. It has published a wide range of high-quality experimental haiku and senryu, utilizing the full spectrum of contemporary methods, including found haiku, collage, dada, surrealism, as well as work centered more on image and object, direct experience and spirituality. He has, in addition, championed the one-line form as the standard for haiku composition.”
